The Penang Island was the place written in stone on my Asian list. No, not much research before, just a hint read somewhere about amazing street art. Ok, no need to convince me further! And indeed, Georgetown streets are bustling with street sculptures, drawings and paintings. To the point that you can obtain a special map where places for outdoor art lovers are marked. Not in order to find them. To not miss any of them, as they are all around the town.
We’ve taken one afternoon and one evening especially to check out just them, but still on the other days we were finding more just by accident. Some of them we couldn’t even with the map, later got a tip for those missed – look up!
Penang is not only that, although sufficient for me to come there. The island is full of amazing places like Snake Temple, Floating Mosque or remote beaches of a national park. To name a few. But I will continue about them in further posts, for now enjoy the streets of Georgetown:
A green patch on the sidewalk?
… yes, just a vertical one.
